Black Alumni Chapter Tech Equity Project

The Black Alumni Chapter established this fund to create an opportunity for 3 minority students to receive a computer for Fall 2020.

Because of you, we've reached over $10,000

September 11, 2020

We are thrilled to announce that the Black Alumni Chapter Tech Equity Project has well surpassed their latest stretch goal of $5,000. Thanks in large part to generous alumni, and to Elevation Church of Charlotte for their $5,000 gift, the new grand total is over $10,000!

Thank you for supporting 49er students who need a laptop to meet the technology requirement presented this academic year due to the pandemic.

Shawn Simmons, Assistant Director, Office of Academic Diversity and Inclusion and the Program Director for UTOP, shares his gratitude below.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for supporting UNC Charlotte students! Your donation helps UTOP and other 49er students to have the technology resources they need for virtual learning this academic year.

It is incredible what Niners can do together -- we have reached the initial goal of $2,700 set to provide 3 UTOP students with a laptop. Now, we hope to continue to support 49er by raising our goal to $5,000 to help other students in need. Please know that your generosity is having an immediate impact on the life of a fellow 49er.

Please continue to share this project with your networks to help more students in need this academic year.
