Formula SAE is an annual design competition where students design, build and race a formula-style car organized by SAE International. This competition is held at the Michigan International Speedway on May 6-9th where over 100 schools from around the world compete.
Donations to the team will help us purchase parts for the car, team uniforms, stock metal, fasteners, and tools for our shop. Parts such as tires, wiring harnesses, and engine components can quickly add up in cost. For this reason, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and help students on the team broaden their education.
Formula SAE exemplifies the emphasis that UNCC engineering places on hands-on learning outside of the classroom, as well as the top tier tools and resources that are provided to students in order to work on such a collaborative project.
Our objective is to bring knowledge from the classroom and apply it to a real-world engineering challenge. This is helpful because our team consists of a variety of students, some of which are pursuing a mechanical engineering degree with a concentration in motorsports. The goal of the team is not just to create a concept, but a reality where our car and team will undergo multiple dynamic and static trials throughout their journey.
Here is how we plan to break down our $5,000 funding goal:
Thank you again for your support and your donation!

Your donation will help us purchase uniforms so the team will look professional at competition.
Your donation will help our team purchase new machine tools and tools around the shop to make new parts.
Each part starts out it's life as a solid block of metal stock and gets cut away into the part that will go on our car. Your donation will help us purchase this metal stock in order for us to complete our car.
